Luz was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Marketing from the University of Puerto Rico in 1991.  She moved to the United States in 1995 to work for the US Army as a Project & Logistics Manager. Luz has volunteered as a mentor for children and adolescents since 2007 and earned her Masters of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College in 2011.  Luz became a CASA Volunteer in April 2017.  After 23 1/2 years, she retired from Federal Service on December 2018.  Luz joined the staff as a Volunteer Coordinator/Advocate Supervisor on April 1, 2019!
