Here is a little about Peg:

How long have you been an Advocate?   2 years

What brought you to CASA?   I am a former Guidance Counselor who
missed working with kids and their families. I was looking for a
way to volunteer my time and make a difference in children’s lives.

What keeps you at CASA?   I believe I am making a difference in
children’s lives. I have enjoyed building relationships with the
children and their families as well as interacting and working with a variety of different people and professionals.

What CASA experience stands out the most?   Building a trusting relationship has been the most challenging part of my role as a CASA advocate. On one visit I cooked dinner with my child which allowed us to engage with one another in a non-threatening, cooperative and fun experience.

Three words to describe yourself: Patient, Empathetic, and Kind
Occupation: Stay at home mother of 4
What are your hobbies/interests? I most enjoy spending time with my family doing anything. I also really like volunteering, planning events, and working out.
Favorite vacation destination: Any beach
Favorite food: Peanut Butter cookies
What are you reading or watching right now: The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande
Dog or Cat: Dog
Coffee or Tea: Coffee
Favorite Color: Yellow
We believe all of our Volunteers have super powers, what is yours? Extrasensory Perception
Anything else you’d like us to know about yourself, or your time as an Advocate? My time as a CASA advocate has enriched and enlightened my life in more ways than I had imagined it would.
